It may feel a little bit sore and uncomfortable in the early stages, but it’s vital to maintain a high standard of oral hygiene regime throughout treatment. So, make sure to brush your teeth after every meal and to use inter-dental picks to clear any lingering food debris. It is always advisable to carry a toothbrush with you.

It’s only natural that patients who wear dental braces tend to find that food can become lodged in their fittings after meals. Drinking plenty of water is perfect remedy for this and offers an ideal way of cleansing the mouth and shifting food debris. A check-up will normally last between 10 to 30 minutes depending on the state of your brace at the time of your visit.  This also gives your orthodontist plenty of time to check on the progress of your treatment, identify potential issues, and assess the overall condition of your teeth and gums.
