Invisalign Lite – Teeth Straightening for Minor Orthodontic Problems

Invisalign Lite – Teeth Straightening for Minor Orthodontic Problems

Last year, Align Technology celebrated their six millionth Invisalign patient. In recent years, Invisalign has grown to be one of the most popular orthodontic treatments as it demonstrates excellent teeth straightening results in a discreet and easy to use manner. Treatment can take more than 12 months for most adults seeking Invisalign treatment, however, for more minor orthodontic problems, Invisalign Lite can provide great results in a shorter time.

What you need to know about Invisalign Lite

Invisalign Lite works in the same way as other Invisalign treatments but is designed to treat minor orthodontic problems and therefore, the time span for treatment is usually considerably shorter than with Invisalign. Patients receiving Invisalign Lite treatment will normally be given a maximum of ten aligners, meaning that treatment can be completed within 6 months.

Whilst the idea of a shorter treatment time may sound very appealing, Invisalign Lite isn’t suitable for everyone. Common problems that can be corrected by Invisalign Lite braces include:

  • Slight overcrowding – Overcrowded teeth can make it more difficult to keep your teeth and gums clean as there is not enough space for teeth to align correctly. Invisalign Lite can help to correct minor overcrowding.
  • Gaps between the teeth – If there are small spaces between your teeth and your teeth have slowly been drifting out of position, clear aligners may be able to help solve this problem.
  • Badly positioned teeth – Overcrowding and gaps between the teeth can lead to them moving gradually out of position, which cause more problems in the future.
  • Misalignment between upper and lower teeth – The misalignment of the upper and lower teeth can lead to bite problems. These issues may be corrected in just a few months.

It is also quite common for Invisalign Lite patients to have already had some kind of orthodontic treatment in the past. After wearing all types of braces, patients are required to wear retainers at night in order to keep their teeth in the desired position.

However, when people don’t keep wearing retainers for the recommended time, their teeth can move surprisingly quickly, meaning that more treatment is required to realign the teeth. In this situation, the shorter treatment time of Invisalign Lite braces is well suited.

If you are suffering from minor to moderate teeth alignment problems and would like to achieve straighter teeth in as discreet a manner as possible, Invisalign Lite could well be the solution.
